No. My wife does this... makes a right mess of the butter.

I used to partake in weetabix with butter and strawberry jam a lot when a child.

Delicious.

Then again my mum probably wasn't known for her health kicks as she also used to feed me brown sugar sandwiches!

I have Weetabix with hot milk, which many people think is quite abnormal.

Woah! flashback to putting butter on the knife, whoosing it through the crumbs & licking the knife clean.

My dad (RIP) would do it (technically it was Shredded Wheat but it is pretty much the same) with butter and hot milk before he started eating healthy. Left it a right soggy mess so I never did.

This was 30 years ago so what was healthy was different, before we go back to the butter thread.

Delicious.

I have been eating weetabix this way for as long as I can remember - at least fifty years.

You don't actually spread the butter. It's best to take butter direct from the fridge and carve relatively thick slices for pressing onto the weetabix. This wonderful treat becomes even better when topped with marmite.

Well done, Jonah. I thought it was just me.

Never heard of this random lubrication of foods! Biscuits? Cereal? I've lived a sheltered life.

What other weird things to people put butter on? I'm guessing Shredded Wheat would fit the MO...

Up The Iron - not sure how it came about, but whoever invented it is a legend.

Another favourite was toast with cinnamon and sugar mixed together and then grilled.

Formed a nice sugary, cinnamony crust.

I would eat a Weetabix with butter on, but I'd be thinking of a crumpet.

Fucking hell - cinammon toast, that brings back memories, well done Jonah.

I would add - ketchup and hp sandwiches, fish finger sandwiches.
